Bali has once again made a mark on the international scene after winning the most beautiful island in Asia 2025 in the annual Reader's Choice Awards by travel magazine DestinAsian.
The Island of the Gods beat the names of other world tourist destinations such as the Maldives to Phuket in Thailand. The Maldives itself was ranked the second most beautiful island in Asia 2025.
Boracay in the Philippines took third place and Phuket came in fourth. Vietnam's largest island, Phu Quoc, is ranked fifth.
Completing the top ten list of the most beautiful islands in Asia 2025 are Palawan from the Philippines, Koh Samui from Thailand, Langkawi in Malaysia, Penang in Malaysia, and finally Lombok in Indonesia. This means there are two Indonesian representatives in the top 10 most beautiful islands in Asia this year.
The DestinAsian awards celebrate the best destinations, hotels, airlines and travel services across Asia, based on votes from thousands of travelers around the world.
With its blend of Hindu-Balinese traditions, Bali has long been renowned for its rich cultural heritage, including distinctive dances, enchanting rituals and ancient temples.
In 2024, Bali welcomed 6.3 million international visitors, surpassing pre-pandemic levels, and aims to attract 6.5 million tourists this year.
The island has also previously made a mark on the international scene by being named Asia's most beautiful island in 2024 by the readers of Condé Nast Traveler.
